Kaplan Qbank Review

By Far the gold standard of question banks is Kaplan’s Qbank. It is by far the most popular and also the most expensive. Qbank boasts the most number of questions of any of its competitors with over 2,150 questions. It also has the very trusted name of Kaplan behind it- these people are professionals.

There are very few down sides about Kaplan’s Qbank. One that first must be looked at is the price. It costs $279 for a 3 month (which is how long you should do questions for) subscription and $199 for a 1 month subscription (you can get away with it). It is a bit pricey compared to other alternatives. But then again you get what you pay for.

Another downside and the only consistently reported problem with Qbank is that the questions seem to have a lot of hints in them. Some students feel that this makes Qbank unlike the real USMLE’s. Also, Kaplan’s computer based approach simulates that actual testing experience of the USMLE’s or COMLEX. You can choose to do a timed mode, like the real test, or you also have to option to do a tutorial mode. In Tutorial mode, you can go through questions that you previously missed or you can do a subject based review. Either way you get immediate feedback and detailed (the best) explanations for both the right and wrong answers.

Your statistics that Kaplan Qbank keeps lets you focus on studying the materials you need the most help on. This a key feature that no book will ever do for you. Qbank not only gives you the experience of questions it also helps you improve on your weaknesses.

Kaplan Qbank has it all with very little downside. The price is not much considering what is on the line. The Kaplan name ensures you that you are getting what you need to succeed on your boards. Ultimately, Kaplan Qbank has everything you could possibly need in a question bank.
