Biochemistry is great but ‘Path’ equals points. Every student sets out to do great on their boards but deep down they really just want to pass. Maybe we should say, “first and foremost, PASS! Second, do great!” Know matter what goal you have set for yourself, pathology is your key to success.

Pathology is the study of disease. Did you know that pathology is also the study of doing well on your Step 1 medical boards. That’s right. If you study it (and know it well) you will do well on your boards.

Why?

Pathology equals points! Plain and simple. The majority of questions will have some path intertwined in the answer. It is estimated that pathology will make up 40-60% of questions on Step 1 medical boards. Know your pathology and know it well. It won’t let you down!

Here’s a quick-tip for you: If pathology makes up 40-60% of the test then why not make it 40-60% of your study time. Makes sense doesn’t it? But let us warn you. If you make it 100% of your study time you will not have a desirable outcome. So when you are making your study schedule ration the time out equally according to each subjects’ emphasis on boards. This will ensure you are properly prepared for each subject.
